The Department in collaboration with the National Association of GP Co-operatives is to run a one day national conference on 23rd October at the Novotel Hammersmith, London on the future provision of OOHs under the new GMS contract. The event is primarily aimed at PCTs but representatives from Strategic Health Authorities, NHS Direct, GP co-ops, commercial organisations and other parts of the emergency care network will also be invited.
The purpose of the event is to:
· to help PCTs understand the impact of the new GP contract and their role, setting out the issues and processes they need to consider and resolve, and
· to help inform GPs and co-ops decisions about their future and explore the new
models and integrated roles that are emerging for service provision under the new contract.
Attendance at the conference will be by invitation. Invites have been sent to PCT CE's, Emergency Care Leads and Co-ops. Please find a copy of the invitation here.
